OUR MISSION
To make Chester the most liveable city in Europe and the vibrant hub of a dynamic and prosperous sub-region.
Chester should be an inventive, inclusive, entrepreneurial and vibrant city where the conditions are laid down for city living to develop for businesses to grow and where cultural activities flourish with permanence.
To make Chester a ‘smart city’ where the latest in high-speed digital communications infrastructure and technology is readily available across the city.
To create a super-connected city centre: A central hub where existing professional networks rub shoulders with net zero research & technologies, independent creatives & makers and digital natives & scholars in the heart of a uniquely beautiful city of heritage.

Every journey starts with a first step. Chester GAS has taken that first step in putting on our launch event…
but how do we move it forward?
That’s the big question.
We envisage that the GAS movement will have three distinct Phases:
Phase 1: Share and Connect
This is all about finding out what is happening in Chester in real time, what reports have already been published (but not necessarily read), and what projects are being worked on right now.. and sharing them. If your project isn’t on our site - it’s because we don’t know about it…so please share and don’t forget to tell us what you need next.
Phase 2: Engage and Inspire
We tell everyone that is interested in delivering a better Chester what a better Chester could to look like – starting with a simplified OCP. Only then can we can reach out and see what collaborations we can facilitate happen - and put movers and shakers in touch with other movers and shakers.. and try and make the OCP a meaningful and deliverable Chester plan.
Phase 3: Deliver and See
This is the fun bit, this is where the magic happens, this is where we help turn the dial to ‘YES’, and where we help deliver on promises and make stuff happen.
….And to make all of this happen it will need financial as well as public support.. that’s the bit we need to focus on next.
